DIY Birch Pumpkins

Fall is my favorite time of year. I love everything about it. But especially love decorating for fall. I thought I would combine two things that I love. These darling little birch slabs of wood and fall.

What you Need:

1 large slab of wood (purchased at Micheals or Hobby Lobby)

1 small slab of wood

White paint

Paint brush

Vinyl for stencil

Silhouette machine

Ribbon

First thing I used my Silhouette and cut out some vinyl for my Harvest pumpkin. I stuck that to my pumpkin using the outside of the word so I could use it as a stencil. If you don't have the vinyl you could easily hand write the words or buy some stencils from the store.

Tips on getting a crisp line. Us an actual brush not a foam brush. Apply the paint in very thin coats.

Remove vinyl immediately after painting.

For the polka dot pumpkin, I just used the end of the brush and dotted paint randomly.

I found some sticks in the yard and added the stems and tied the big one with my favorite ribbon of all time black and white gingham. I am loving just black and white for fall this year.

If you make some I would love to see so be sure to post a picture and tag me on Instagram.

Happy Fall....
