I am not typically a brush kind of girl, but since my hair has gotten long I have to use a brush. I have really fine hair, but I have a lot of it, so it tangles up like crazy. My 7-year-old has the same problem and hates to brush her hair. So I have been on the hunt for a good brush that works for both of our needs. I have been using the Wet Brush and the Tangle Teaser and I wanted to share my thoughts about them with you.
What they are supposed to do:
The Wet Brush is intended to be use on wet hair hence the name Wet Brush. It's supposed to help eliminate tangles easily and painlessly. You can find them at Target for around $8. The brush head has the little bristles that have the little ball on the end it doesn't squish down like normal hair brushes when you push on it.
The Tangle Teaser is intended to be used exactly the same way as the Wet Brush. The bristles in this brush though are short and really close together. The shape of the brush fits perfectly into your hand. I got mine at Sally Beauty Supply for $12. (I think)
Pros and Cons:
The Wet Brush is my favorite I just love this brush so much. It works like a charm and does exactly what it claims to do. You can even use it on dry hair. Now the Tangle Teaser oh man... this brush is a nightmare. I don't know if it's just because of the type of hair I have or what, but if I brush my hair or my daughters hair with this brush it makes it so frizzy. Don't even think about using it on dry hair. I can't pinpoint exactly what makes it make my hair a frizzy mess, but it does. I feel when I use it just brushes the top layer and makes the bottom mess. It doesn't brush through all the layers at once. I hope that makes sense. It's more expensive and not as good. So if you have been interested in either I would HIGHLY recommend picking up the Wet Brush.
This is just my opinion I know there are lots of people who l love the tangle teaser, but for me and my hair I am not a fan.
