I have been craving and needing to be more organized. I feel like my mind is all over the place all the time. I had research a ton of FANCY planners, but I wasn't sure if I would actually stick with it. So I decided to get a cheap planner. I got this planner at Walmart and have LOVED it and have actually stuck with it write things down. It has also helped me have a little creative outlet each Sunday evening after I put the kids to bed. I told myself that if I stuck with this cheap planner for 4 months I would splurge and get a nicer one. I have my eye on this one. Its not super expensive like some of the other ones, but I love the simplicity of it. That's what I want in a planner something very basic so that I can add whatever I want and nothing is competing with each other. If that makes any sense. :)
This one was $4.96 at Walmart (I think) they still have it to if you are interested.
I just wanted to show you how you can spice up a boring old planner.
Some of my favorite things to use in my planner are
I got these Staedtler pens from Target for around $13 they come in a pack of 12. I love them. They do not bleed through the pages and are a nice thin tip.
Stickers and Paper Flags
Now I am not a huge fan of all the cutesy sticker, but I do love flags and hearts and stars. My favorite are these Kraft paper ones. I have these and also hearts and circles. You can get these ones at Target in the Dollar spot. The others I get at Michael's.
I am addicted to washi tape... SERIOUSLY... I have a problem. But Its just so cute. I like to pick out a few that go together each week for my layouts. I mostly decorate with tape. I think I own every washi tape that Michael's sells. So they have lots of cute ones. I also like to get it from places like
You can get GREAT deals on those sites. If I see a good deal I usually post about in on our Facebook so be sure to be following us there. Side-note for washi... If you want to write directly on it you will need to use a sharpie. The other pens I mentioned do not work.
I also have a stash of sticky notes and project life cards. I use the project life cards to make my daily to do list and just punch holes in them and stick them in my planner.
Target's Dollar spot is really the best place to get fun stuff for your planner. They have washi tape, note pads, pens, pencils, and stickers. Its really cute and so inexpensive.
This is my monthly view. Here I just write down birthdays, holidays, trips, and if I am writing in months in advance (I do that in pencil) just in case things changes.
Here is my weekly view... Here I keep track of anything that is going on during the week, and my to do lists.
I am a very simple person. To me LESS IS MORE! I have not always been that way, but anymore I just like things to look nice and clean and crisp.
I hope I have inspired you to get a little more organized. I have really found that it helps me actually think of the things I need to do each and and each week and be more productive with my time. I was also really craving some creative outlet and this really helped in those months were I just didn't have the time.
GOOD LUCK!!! We will announce the winner on Friday October 17th!
